How to decorate puppy dog cupcakes

Image
Hey you guys, sorry that I haven't posted in a while. Had other things going on. So as you all know, I'm a baker. Last week I received a request for a donation to an animal shelter for an open house. I made chocolate-chip and snickerdoodle cookies in shapes of puppy bones. Then, I made milk chocolate brownies. No shape on those. But best of all, I made chocolate and vanilla cupcakes that looked like puppy dogs. They were the cutest.           Remember when I wrote about my bunny rabbit who passed away? Well, Sunday April 29 will be the anniversary of his passing. That happens to be the same day of the animal shelter open house. What better way to celebrate his memory than to donate baked goods to an animal shelter.           Down below I have attached a photo of the puppy dog cupcakes. Along with the photo, I have also recorded a video of "How to decorate puppy dog cupcakes." Enjoy watching and please...

The Keg!!

Have any of you ever eaten at The Keg? If you haven’t, it’s a fancy, expensive streak house. Consider this a review. I just tried it for the first time at my younger sisters birthday dinner. What I have to say about it is amazing service, great management. But the food, I have a few words about that.           I ordered steak and lobster with an accompaniment of a twice baked potato. The steak tasted old with a sour after taste. Wasn’t very great after I’ve been craving steak for months. The lobster, could’ve been seasoned better. The flavor was so bland and boring. I had to keep dipping it in melted butter just to make it less boring to eat. But oh no, the twice baked potato, I can only eat two bites of that. It might be just me but I’m glad that was an add on to my dinner. My sister ordered a side of Mac and cheese for us to share and needless to say, one bite was enough. It was made with shredded cheese that wasn’t even mel...

Happy Easter!

Image
Happy Easter you guys. How was your day? Mine was ok. As usual, I attended the Easter Sunday church service and then drove to my cousins new house for a fun family get-together. It was great but then not so great. My family is pretty awesome but it’s also the first Easter without my bunny rabbit who passed away last April. Even though it was almost a year ago, I’m still really sad. Rest In Peace Reilly Rabbit.                     Of course, being a baker, my family expects me to bring desserts. So I took a few things. I made a gorgeous strawberry cake with a fresh strawberry on top for extra decoration. But the dazzler of a cake I made was an Easter egg cake beautifully decorated. The third dessert I took was my very own chocolate creation. Although, I will not be sharing my recipe. But I will share pictures along with a picture of my bunny r...

The Meaning of my Business Name

How is everybody today? The meaning of my business name is actually just a topic that I found online. I’m not even sure what it really means. So today, I will write to you guys what I think it means.           As all of you know from my previous posts, I own my own business. It is a bakery. Baking reflects who I am. I might not eat most desserts, but I always put my own creative touches on what I bake.           The original legal name of my business is “Maison de Madeline,” which is French for “House of Madeline.” Since I happen to live in an apartment above my shop, I literally worked out of my own house. Although, nobody knew how to pronounce it properly, so I shortened the name to “Madeline’s Bakery.”           I might’ve had three businesses, but the bakery is the one that’s here to stay. I have more posts coming up soon, so keep reading and please comment with feedback....

Australia Cake...Got a “Learn how to” Video!!!

Image
So this past weekend, my younger sister brought over her Australian boyfriend and my family had a cookout. Earlier in the month, she had asked me to bake and decorate a surprise Australia cake. I have attached a picture and a tutorial video of it. You might get a chance to learn how to decorate with fondant accessories.           In this video, I explain how to color fondant, make edible paint, and also how to properly shape fondant in what ever you want to make. I only made simple stuff out of fondant so you can learn the basics.           From here on out, every cake that I do, I will post pictures and videos explaining the process of cake decorating. However, I did not film the actual decorating of the cake. It was my first time making these videos, so I kept it simple.           There are only three sections in this video. The first one, I will be showing you how to make ...

New Car Searching is Very Stressful...

You know how I wrote to you guys before about my car accident. How it’s totaled. Today, I finally went out to car dealerships to look around for my next car. It was incredibly stressful and now all I want is a nap. Some car salesmen are total idiots but very few are reasonable. Thanks to one car salesman, I might’ve found my next car.           Sad to say, it will not be another convertible. I went to the Honda dealership, and within five minutes, I was shown a gorgeous 2018 Honda Civic. Sometime this week or next, as soon as I get my insurance check, I will be going back to test drive and then take that car home. When I do, I’ll be sure to post pictures to show you guys. Even though it wont be another convertible, it will at least have a sun roof.           The car salesman at the Volkswagen dealership was nice but come on, he was a complete Obama look-a-like. After I test drove a car I liked, he cha...

Car Accident Continued...

Has anyone read my post about my car accident? Well, I just got news on what's going to happen next.           An insurance guy came to my house this morning to appraise my car and as it turns out, it's totaled. Yikes! My poor car! If you haven't noticed from the previous pictures, its a 2002 BMW convertible. With only 79,000 miles on it. Not bad for it's year. After looking it up, my car is about worth as high as $6,000. I could possibly get that much from the insurance company. Fingers crossed.           If that's the case, that insurance check will make a great down payment for a brand new car. But of course, I'm going to continue driving a convertible for as long as I can. At least I hope so. If I can find one with decent affordable payments.           In the mean time, the insurance company F...
